Author Event with John H. Brown

  • Taylor Books 226 Capitol Street Charleston, WV, 25301 United States (map)

We are excited to welcome back John H. Brown for a reading and book signing for the newest novel in the Augie Trilogy, Augie’s Wine. Augie’s War, Augie’s World and Augie’s Wine tell the stories (and travails) of Augie Cumpton–a young West Virginian who is sent to Vietnam. Augie faces the horrors of war and then suffers from PTSD when he returns home. And when he incurs the wrath of the Mafia, he is forced to go on the run. Augie’s Wine is set in West Virginia, Washington, DC and the California wine country.

“Augie’s Wine is a vintage historical thriller that serves up a delicious blend of tension, intrigue and danger. With nuances of romance and humor, the novel is a spirited cuvee sure to please every literary palate. If you take a sip of Augie’s Wine, you’ll want the whole bottle!”

“Augie's War may be over but his battles have just begun. John H. Brown turns up the heat in this excellent series that sees our hero back from Vietnam into a hornet's nest of intrigue and criminality… that carries us from the soft brown earth of California wine country to the hard black coalfields of West Virginia. Highly recommended." –Homer Hickam, author of Rocket Boys
