Moore’s work layers simple techniques and materials; mixing media to build patina and story. The work is a tribute to Appalachian traditions like resourcefulness, ingenuity, saving and nostalgia. He uses theatrical language, coded icons and childhood memories from southern West Virginia to make crafty objects presented as paintings. Currently Moore’s work is about isolation, obligation, time and celebration.
