Chris Rodgers worked at Taylor Books for five years. First while finishing up high school and then while attaining a BA in ceramics from WVSU. After graduating in the Spring of 2011 he began working full time here with the title of Clay Studio assistant (Taylor Books has a ceramics studio, you know). He worked recycling the clay, mixing glazes, cleaning the studio and helping with most of the kiln firings. For many people it can be difficult to find a place to continue creating after school, but here at the store Chris was allowed to have a small space for his own work in the back of the studio. He was also able to spend part of the summers of 2012 and 2013 at Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts and Penland School of Crafts, respectively. In August, 2013 he took a position teaching English in Beijing, China. The work displayed here was made both at Penland and in the Taylor Books studio.
