Drawing doesn’t have to be intimidating. Drawing doesn’t have to have limitations. Students will be introduced to different media approaches to drawing that will spark new creativity. From creating 3D drawings to found object drawings; from shellac to materials found in your own kitchen, come explore.

Registration:
Registration deadline is four days prior to the start of a class. Class size is limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. You are enrolled in your class when full payment has been received.
Please don't wait to register for a class- if the minimum is not met, it could be cancelled. Also, check your calendar carefully- we do not offer make-up classes for missed sessions.
You can register by mail, phone, or in person, checks, cash, and credit/debit cards accepted. Tax is applied to all classes, please remembre to include it if mailing in a check.
Withdrawal/Cancellation:
A full refund, less a $15 processing fee, will be given to students who withdraw from a course one week prior to start date. No refunds will be given after that time.
Annex Studios reserves the right to cancel classes with insufficient enrollment up to 3 days before the start date. A full refund will given if this occurs.
It is the students responsibility to provide accurate contact information. Students are encouraged to contact the store before class begins to verify enrollment.
Classes cancelled due to weather, instructors illness or conditions beyond our control will be rescheduled. Classes missed for personal reasons will not be made up & no refunds will be given for missed classes.
Pottery has been viewed for many years as a functional art form. Come and learn a new side of pottery. This class is an “out of the box” approach to combining thrown and hand built forms. This class will focus on alternative approaches to the wheel, using the wheel as another tool for pottery making. Students should have rudimentary throwing skills.

Saturday 12:00-3:00 July 2-24; Aug 7-28
We’ll take a look at the tradition of Raku, its forms, its functions, the artist who have used it in the past, and those who seek to use it today. We will make our own glazes and fire them. Students should have finished green-ware at the beginning of the class to insure we have bisk-ware to fire on the last day of class.

The beginning class will start by taking a look at hand building forms, as well as an introduction into the potter’s wheel (centering, the build up, and basic glazing). The advanced class takes these principles to a higher level providing a more in-depth view into diverse forms on the wheel as well as a fresh approach to hand built clay.

Create a Cha Cha bracelet by adding beads on head pins to an expandable cuff. Students will become proficient in bending head pins. Class is limited to 10. Everything is included, but feel free to bring your own beads and tools. Bring a friend and do the Cha Cha!

Artists have been using the potter’s wheel for many years starting with the kick pedal to the modern electric wheel. Now it’s your turn to learn! Beginning students will learn how to center and turn pots on a wheel, hand build forms, as well as surface decoration. Returning students will have mentored studio time.

Do you want to take your digital photography to the next level or maybe just do some touch ups, come and learn how? Participants should bring a laptop computer, Photoshop (any version), digital photos, and a little patience.

Explore the process of creating ceramic art forms through hand building with clay. Learn concepts like pinch, slab and coil along with decorative techniques. Clay properties, surface decoration, glaze application and kiln firing procedures will be discussed and applied.

Design and construct architectural structures such as cabins, houses and commercial buildings. Clay properties, surface decoration, glaze application and kiln firing procedures will be discussed and applied while creating a variety of clay projects.

Young artists will be given the opportunity to create pottery by being introduced to the wheel turning process. In addition, basic sculptural techniques will be explored through hand building. Learn about clay properties, surface decoration, glaze application and kiln firing procedures.
